Within a year this is probably not even sensational anymore but now, right now mobile payment systems are the new deal in Africa. Safaricom's M-Pesa is naturally the good example. They make up 20% of Kenya's GDP and shows how big the potential for mobile payment is. This article states that almost 500 million Africans have mobile phones and 60 % uses their mobile to purchase goods.
