New online fashion store in Nigeria

Some days ago I blogged about Kasuwa, which is a clone of Amazon for the Nigerian market. As I also wrote in that blog post the Nigerian e-commerce market is really getting big and very interesting. With an internet penetration of 45 mio. Nigerians (12 years ago in 2000 there were only 200.000) the e-commmerce market is potentially very profitable to tap into.

Sabunta claims to be "the most comprehensive online fashion store in Nigeria!" They sell women's and men's fashion clothes and they also state that they have excellent customer service and free shipping in Nigeria. You can pay on your doorstep when the goods arrive - or by creditcard. Not only can you purchase fashion clothes, but also beauty items, home decor and other accessories.

The webshop is easy to navigate and is well designed. When you click a product it shows pictures from different angels, it gives you a description of the details of the products and of course an option for adding the product to your online shopping cart. The shipping time for products must be considered quite fair as their delivery times are 5-7 working days for main city centers (Abuja, Benin City, Lagos, Onitsha, and Port Harcourt) and 5-10 working days for other areas.

The online store has been launched by the same investors that started three different online clothes stores; Brazilian Dafiti, Germany Zalando and Australia The Iconic. The Sabunta online fashion store has been brought to Nigeria by European Investors Rocket Internet.

I'm looking forward to following this concept in Nigeria.
